The new 7.6.1.0 image released in early June 2020 adds several enhancements to Lab Maps, including a robust new Markdown editor.
HP RGS Support
A quick note on added support for Remote links: HP RGS is now supported. Much the same way that you can customize the RDP template, you can also customize the RGS template. You will find this new option right next to the VNC and RDP options seen in previous versions. The options for using computer name and DNS suffix also apply to RGS.
Info Page
The most significant addition in this version is the new Info page on availability maps. Previously, items like the forecast were under the Floorplan only, and a List view had none of these extra features. Now with a separate Info tab, you can have these details without needing to draw the room. In addition, there is a full Markdown editor which allows for rich addition of content. You can include custom text, links, images, and more!
With this enhancement, you can easily add pictures of the location, links to other resources like booking systems, or whatever else might help your users. Those with an eye for detail will notice we also changed the Forecast graphic in this version. The new display offers more granular visualization of the hours of days compared to the old grid view. Reservations
Editing the open hours of the location is also easier than ever and a new option has been added for Reservations. After adding the remote links feature we started to get feedback about the conflict of marking an excluded time for a class as that cause the lab to show as closed. For a remote class we need those links in order to connect, but they’re not displayed for a closed lab! By marking the time period as a reservation the location will show the time in the schedule and still show the remote links.
The page header will also display the name of the reservation so you can customize what is seen.\
This way the location is prominently shown as reserved while still displaying the remote links. For in person classes, you can add the Excluded flag to show the lab as closed and hide the links.
