8.0.0.7 Extends Audits
Is it really Autumn already?? Well here in New England the trees are putting on their fall show anyway. But while the temperatures are cooling our development is not! Let’s take a look at the new features in this release.
Audit Browser Extensions
This one requires an update of the KeyAccess client. We can now gather the installed Extensions for supported browsers (Firefox and chromium-based like Chrome, Edge, and Opera, but not Safari due to security constraints). Extensions are gathered as part of the audit and recorded as “packages” in the server’s data. Packages can be use to create Products, so over time we will be adding new Products to PRS. Sections in the Web
You have been able to see Sections in the Web for years, but you had to make them in KeyConfigure. If you’re not familiar, these are management containers for Divisions which are real handy in large environments that need delegated access rights. You can just use them as an organizational object as well. If you hold the Shift key when you click the + next to Divisions, you make a new Section instead of a new Division.
Speaking of Divisions, when you edit them (right click) you can now manage more of their attributes in the web as well.
Devices on Floorplans
Up to now you could only see Computers in the list view of a Floorplan under Maps. You could see and place Printers on the Layout view of a floorplan. Now Printers will also show in the list view, and the Projector category has been added to both as well. There are filter buttons at the top of the list view for these types. For those using Embedding, this also introduces plat=printer so you can for example embed a list of just printers in another dashboard.
UI Enhancements
There are a bunch of little UI enhancements in the Web as well, such as:
- Option on completed report page to re-run the report. This flushes any cached data which is handy if you’re making organizational changes for example.
- You can now Duplicate a Purchase by right clicking on it. Handy for replicating line items that are very similar on a PO.
- Various Widgets have additional new options.
- Quick Edit will infer dependent field values.
- Right click on a Rule to choose to Apply Rules Now (run all computers through all rules).
