Hello again and welcome to another fun filled release announcement! We have a packed one for you this time folks, and it’s not even the main holiday season yet (wait your turn bearded man, turkey first). About 90 changes this time and a long list of new toys so buckle up and let’s get to it!
Fresh Service Integration
Let’s lead it off with the tagline for this release, we have a new integration to offer. This one is for the Fresh Service ITSM platform. The integration is very similar to our TeamDynamix integration, so the script is almost the same. The setup on the Fresh side is simpler than with TD so it’s pretty quick and straight forward. Now, this is the first release so we expect there may be quirks we need to work out as we discover how customers use things on the Fresh side. As always we thrive on your feedback, so let us know what you find, and if you need assistance just contact support.
Loaner “Bundles”
We’ve had a few requests for making it easier to check out “bundles” of equipment. This would be something like a laptop with dock and camera for example. There is a new option in the settings for the Loaner Checkout extra to automatically include attached devices to the computer. So as long as you have the peripheral Devices linked to the computer, they will be selected for checkout along with the computer. Easy!
Scope on Completed Reports
Using the Scope in the web UI is very powerful as you are hopefully aware. Instantly having all widgets on a dashboard redraw to just a division, section, or tag provides huge flexibility. Picking a scope before running a report to have the results narrowed dynamically means one base template can provide dozens of results. And now, even after you run the report you can flip the scope and the report will regenerate to show the new results.
Computer Property Widget Filter
This option was added to the Computer Count widget a few months ago, and is now also on the Computer Property widget. Because of the countless things you can show in so many ways, this was already my personal favorite widget. Now that you can also target a Filter the possibilities are infinite. Sure it may not be that often you need to show a pie chart of BIOS versions for your deployed computers that are only Dell brand in a certain department but across multiple divisions… but you can do it 😉
UI Improvements
So many other little items to improve the quality of your experience!
- When viewing the detail page of a Printer in the web, you can see a breakdown of Ink Levels
- Display devices are now listed on Floorplans (joining Projectors and Printers)
- Delete option added to the report context menu of all report objects on the Saved Reports page
- Create Similar option added to context menu of Templates on the Saved Reports page
- Icons on the Computers page in the web will have a green platform icon when they are for a thin client session
- Settings for the Hardware Replacement Extra now include an option for start of Fiscal Year month
- Video card Manufacturer and Model information now shown on Information tab of Computer details (click more by Primary Display)
- Purchase records have 3 new fields on the PO pane: Reseller Address, Contact, and Email
- New Device category for Scanners
- Event Dump report in the web now supports searching for Targets
- Mouseover of Histogram report will now also show the day of the week with the date on the popup
- Forms have several additions like Confirm button when using the confirm fields and Networking details
- When running scripts in the web that take a while, a progress indicator will be shown
- Importing Computer and Device records will support Purchase data in PO#-Line# format (4 digit line#)
- Scope column added as option in Policies window in KeyConfigure
Pro Tip
Did you know you can drag and drop between windows in the Web UI? That’s right, if you needed to add a whole selection of Computers or Devices to a hardware Purchase, easily done between windows.
